MISN's Comprehensive Childbirth and Parenting Preparation Classes

In this childbirth education series of one to two sessions, participants will learn:

  • Anatomy/Changes In Pregnancy
  • Nutrition and Weight Gain
  • Pain in Labor
  • Relaxation and Visual Imagery
  • Stages of Labor
  • Comfort Measures for Mom and Her Partner
  • Positions For Labor
  • Interventions/Pain Medications/Cesarean Birth
  • Postpartum Depression
  • Newborn Care
  • Breastfeeding

The classes are taught by Rachel Durland, CD (DONA), ICCE, or Stephanie Sosnowski, IBCLC, ICCE, Perinatal Health Educators for Maternal Infant Services Network.

MISN regrets that we will no longer be able to offer FREE childbirth education classes, due to the loss of the NYS Department of Health grant funding.  We will, however, be able to offer sliding scale scholarships for registration. Please contact us to learn more!
